National Populism Embodied

I was searching around the internet and I came across an interesting third party. The party is called the New American Independent Party; it also goes by the name National Self-Reliance Party. Much of what this party stands for is exactly what National Populism stands for. As you look through the “Issues” tabs (there are two of them) much of what they believe comes right from National Populism.

National Populism is about self-reliance. America can only remain strong if we rely primarily on ourselves. National Populism believes that manufacturing must be the backbone of this country once again; the NAIP wants to create a U.S. manufacturing strategy. Both National Populism and the NAIP want the middle class to have a fair shake in America after it has had the crap kicked out of it for the last few decades.

I whole-heartedly support the ideas of the NAIP and I hope that you, my fellow readers, will look at their website, its in the Blogroll, and do what you can to help grow that party. If you believe that National Populism is the best choice for a better America, then do whatever possible to help spread the NAIP message.

Moderate Parties Merge

I was given this by a reader of this page and I thought it would be a good idea to help them spread their message:

Moderate National Political Movements Announce Merger

Favoring common sense, rational solutions while rejecting strict ideology, American Centrist Party and Modern Whig Party join forces

WASHINGTON (Tuesday, June 22, 2010) – As the Democrats and Republicans continue to spiral into unprecedented depths of polarization, recent events have highlighted the fact that the original ideals of the Tea Party movement have devolved into merely a continuation of this ideological rift. The common denominator is that moderate, non-fringe and non-ideological voters are still left without a political home. As such, two of the largest moderate political movements in the nation have voted to merge.

The Executive Committee of the American Centrist Party (ACP) has unanimously agreed to merge with the Modern Whig Party. This means that the nearly 16,000 people who had initially signed on in support of the ACP will be joining the about 30,000 Americans who have signed on in support of the revived DC-based Whig Party.

The Modern Whig Party (MWP) revival began as a series of political discussions among deployed American service members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. When these men and women returned home, they realized that there is a substantial need for a mainstream, non-fringe political movement that caters to individuals that are not defined by ideology but rather common sense fiscal responsibility, strong national defense and a focus on education/scientific advancement over strict social issues among other items. The American Centrist Party, as its name suggests, shares the vision of a moderate, non-ideological party that caters to the mainstream voter.

Immediate action as a result of this merger is to modify the leadership structure of the Modern Whig Party. ACP National Chair Andrew Evans has agreed to serve as acting Vice Chair of the Modern Whig Party. Plans to gain ballot access also are in the works.

“This merger is a natural step in bringing out the voice of the moderate voter who values common sense, rationality ahead of strict ideology and partisan bickering,” Vice Chair Andrew Evans said. “Although moderates may not necessarily arrange vociferous protests, they do make their voice heard in the voting booth. Our goal is to provide a political home for those independent-minded voters.”

About the Whig Party:

Established in 1833, the Whigs are one of America’s oldest mainstream political parties. They were the original party of Abraham Lincoln and four other U.S. Presidents.

Revived by Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, the grassroots movement has quickly attracted tens of thousands of members. They represent moderate voters from all walks of life that cherry-pick between traditional Democratic and Republican ideals in what has been called the Modern Whig Philosophy. This Washington, DC-based national movement values common sense, rational solutions ahead of ideology and partisan bickering.

This includes general principles of fiscal responsibility, strong national defense and educational/scientific advancement.

Point Seven: The Will of the People

It is evident that the major political parties and the politicians in them no longer hold the American people in high esteem. All they see you for is votes in the next election. How many times has the will of the people been ignored when we voice our opinion on matters that will affect us is some way? They say they do the “people’s business” but when it comes down to it they look to see how they will get reelected.

Our system has become so detached from the average person that now is the time for a change. National Populism will bring about that change. It is time to put the political parties in their place by bringing the wrath of the American people down on them.

It is time to bring about a National Populist revolution in this country. There is evidence of this with the Tea Party movement. However it must be more than the Tea Parties and angry words at rallies. There needs to be action; action in such a way that it will give the corrupt parties a wake-up call. We can no longer tolerate apathy and laziness. The only option to bring this country back from the political brink is to have a revolution at the ballot box, a sweeping change for the common American. Only through the National Populist revolution that is to come can the American people put the corrupt parties in their place.

With the growing dissatisfaction for our political leaders and established parties the time has come to form a third party movement. During the populist era from 1878 to 1898 this country experienced a grassroots movement that took the country by storm. Farmers in the West were being treated unfairly by the establishment back in the East and out of that came a peaceful uprising of the people.

Looking back on history we must now take that experience and bring it to modern times. The National Populist movement will sweep away the establishment and bring the voice of the people, which has been silent too long, back to the government. The major parties take the American people for granted and it is high time that we show them where the true power of this country belongs.

A Vision for a New America

I have been away too long but there is good reason. Unlike every other blog I don’t want to just put something up here for the sake of doing it. I want there to be real meaning to what I post.

This blog is about what my vision for America should be but up until this point I haven’t really done that and for that I apologize. These next series of posts will correct that mistake.

It is time for someone to step to the plate and say what they truly feel. It is time I step up and show you my vision. I hope you will join me and help create a new America.

We as Americans are a special people. There are some in the mainstream that think differently about that but they do not know what it means to be an American. The ones who do know are those of us who work for a living and do not ask for any special treatment and those who serve our country bravely in the armed forces. They are the backbone of the philosophy of National Populism.

We who believe in the views of National Populism are at the vanguard of a revolution that will take back this country for the average American. If you believe in what this book has taught you, and the points below, then you are a National Populist. The Ten Points are stunning in their simplicity:

1)      America is the greatest nation on Earth and should be treated as such.

2)      Work hard for everything. There is no place in this country for free loaders, rich or poor.

3)      Do everything possible to make this country independent.

4)      Be accountable for your actions.

5)      Putting the American worker ahead of the special interests.

6)      Having a strong leader who will put the needs of the country ahead of any ideological argument.

7)      Put the political parties in their place through the will and determination of the American people.

8)      America’s role in the world is to be a leader and the role of the world is to be the follower.

9)      Have common sense, long-term solutions to the country’s problems.

10)  No matter who you are, if you break the law you will pay the penalty. No one is above the law.

These Ten Points are the basis of what  National Populism stands for. For all those who feel that you have no voice in the matters that are important to this country embrace National Populism and you will find it. If you are lost in the ways of finding the right alternative to greed and corruption of the two mainstream parties, National Populism is the right choice.

Will we change things overnight? Of course not; it took years for the Democrats and the Republicans to solidify their hold on this country and it will take the American people almost as long to break it. It will take a strong, determined effort to regain this country back from the corrupt.

We are a great nation that has accomplished great things. We are a people that have outpaced much older nations in the world. We have had our ups and downs but we have never backed away from anything. When push comes to shove our people have always shoved back at our trials and tribulations and said “You will not slow me down!” No matter what the circumstance we have always prevailed and we will continue to prevail in our constant march towards ever growing greatness.

I will expand on the Ten Points in the later posts so that you can gain a better understanding of this philosophy.

The Foundation for a Third Party

A poll was conducted a few weeks ago that said that 41% of respondents wanted a third party. If that is true for the wider populace then that means a viable third party will have 123 million supporters. That is enough to ensure a third party becomes the dominant party in the country.

Of course this comes on the heels of questions about the political future of Sarah Palin. Of course there is also talk of Lou Dobbs running for either the New Jersey Senate in 2010 or the presidency in 2012. Both of them would make good third party candidates. I prefer Lou Dobbs over Palin but that is my opinion.

This sentiment that the two main parties are doing nothing for the country will only grow with time because they cannot do anything else except what is good for the party. We are involved in a self-destructing pendulum that needs a major block by a third party. There are many groups out there that have a grasp on what America needs. All we need to do is put aside our prejudices about third parties and give them a fair shot.

Independents Day

Sorry that I have been away for a while I was in the hospital with pneumonia. Now I am back and better than ever and I need to get something off my chest.

In the 2009 off year elections and in the 2010 elections there are a number of independent candidates who are running serious campaigns in their states.  The biggest independent in the 2009 races is independent Chris Daggett in New Jersey. A Recent poll showed Daggett with 13% of the vote, a distant third behind incumbent Corzine and GOP candidate Christie.

In Rhode Island former Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee is making an independent run for the governorship of that state. In the liberal stronghold of Massachusetts the state treasurer Tim Cahill is making a run for the governor’s mansion against Deval Patrick.

There are three more possible independent candidates that are considering running. In Minnesota Dean Barkley, chairman of Jesse Ventura’s run for governor is considering a run for the open seat. In Maine Peter Vigue, a construction executive, is thinking about running there. A third party candidate in Vermont, Anthony Pollina, is considering a bid on the Progressive Party ticket.

These candidates are being dismissed a lot of time as Republicans in independent’s clothing. What they fail to realize is that the people across the country are tired of the two party system because they see two parties that provide the same results. I am glad that these people are standing up to buck the current system.

There are also many independent candidates on the state and local levels across the country. That is where it needs to start: at the bottom, moving upward. I hope that these candidates will be successful so they can show the heads of the two major parties that it is time for them to give up the reins of power over this country and give it back to the people.

A Pox on Both Houses

In this country there has developed a monopoly that even with best efforts cannot be easily swept aside. This monopoly has done its best to create fear and dissent among the populace so effectively that most people have forgotten who made them angry and bitter in the first place.  This monopoly is out in the open but the people have trouble figuring out how to break it apart. One of the main advantages of this monoply is that it is institutionalized and will fight tooth and nail to maintain the status quo. This monopoly is not an “evil” business although businesses go out of their way to stay in its good graces.

Can’t figure it out yet? This monopoly, which has its tentacles into every aspect of society is…the Democratic and Republican parties. That’s right both ”mainstream” parties control this country in a way that they can turn American against American by simply pointing and saying “They are unAmerican” and everyone goes into a rage.

This is the ultimate bait and switch. In order to mask their own failures they blame the other side, and at times ordinary Americans, as the reason such and such bill or initiative failed. They don’t look inward because in their minds they are always right and the other side is always wrong. Both parties are two sides to the same coin and it has shown. Both parties have grown the size of this governemtn to a level that is unsustainable.

The Republicans have proven to be hypocrits by saying they are the party of small government, grow government under Bush and complain that the government is too big. The Democrats are hypocrits because they applaud protesters to the war in Iraq because they believe it is wrong while recently demonizing protesters to universal health care who believe it is wrong. This is a classic example of “dissent is okay, but don’t speak up.”

Although both sides are guilty of this: Republicans called war protesters “unAmerican” and “traitors” while Democrats are calling health care protesters “unAmerican,” “Nazis,” and recently thanks to David Letterman “Taliban.”

What I have to say to both sides is that they are both un-American for the simple fact that they are turning our countrymen against each other for no other reason than to score political points. If both sides were serious about solving issues then we would not be arguing about health care, poverty, economic uncertainty, or any other major issue right now. Rather than solve problems they continue problems. A good example is poverty.

If Democrats solve the poverty issue and elevae every poor person to middle and upper class then they have no base, they have no “little guy” with which to help. So in order to keep that base they incrementally help the poor while still saying they are helping the “little guy.”

Both parties have lost their souls and I say a pox on both houses. We need to start over and allow new parties to have a fair shot at governing the country. If that happens then just maybe we might solve the important issues.
